Enter the Void- Commentary- Two perspectives

Enter the Void

Lyn:
I didnt like it so much. I thought it was overstylized and by hour 2 it began to feel like freuds very own version of water torture. Linda's character was totally inconsistent and gelatinous. Not to mention the film attached a lot of negativity to homosexuality.

WilliamDante:
It's all a truth- What is one's actual mentality. You can't reject what is common- or what seems to under-estimation of ones will. The radical truths that are exposed in the film in order to make us feel that particular characters experienc...e in his/her reality may come across as overzealous or even the complete opposite at times but your defiance or disconnection to that characters relative interpretation of his/her social reality is not appropriate to you- due to the fact that it is not you. Most people do not know how to comprehend such disjointed personalities or persona's, believing in these type of personalities and people causes are own socially disruption. People are relatively going to end up a certain way and perceive things a certain way if not provided with the right influence or if they a lack a particular influence all together. The way she interacted with her environment is very much Freud but who can say that is wrong or right. She still did experience the pain of her reality, despite herself and her addictions or other social short-comings. We could say she felt catatonic within herself and was unable to escape-so- she rejected certain parts of herself and continued with others in order to survive. The surreal experiences that the main character exposes you too is his journey through his actual perceptions, which we experience as both fictional & non-fictional through the lens of the camera. His journey from his past until his present as well as his ability to go into the subconscious of his loved ones and even entering the fantasies of his own previously existing subconscious is what he needed in order to end his journey and become re-born. This film is his perception alone-so with that comes the arguments you brought up.
