I wish we all could see how how the notion of a individual being able to contain true darkness is true and false. The guide lines for sustaining oneself within the perimeter of what we could consider within or outside of darkness changes person to person, group to group, religion to religion, culture to culture etc etc. The ability to truly find the pivotal aspects or points of reference in order to define the true components that can be contributed to the true sense of darkness is hard to defend or secure. Just like any other term the definition of darkness is open to a unlimited amount of interpretations, not just due to single individual interpretation of a person who interacts with darkness throughout his/her daily life, not just due to the fact that various cultures and religions are derived on various methods of containing/avoiding/preventing and sentencing what is deemed as darkness. The social congestion of this topic is based upon the general confusion of interpreting darkness as evil or by defining evil as darkness. When anyone interacts with his/her own thoughts, reflects upon a situation or engages him/herself within a given situation, whether it be his/her own or belonging to someone else. As soon as one person decides or interprets or gives feedback on the situation, that person has made a choice and that choice may not rest on the side of light or dark nor good or evil or it might be exactly one of those options. In other circumstances if you want to remove a cultural or social context of a situation an example could be the follow... if one child had to kill another child in order to obtain the food that child had in order to survive, who is good and who is bad, what if one of those children was your child or your brother or sister or neighbor...where do you make your choice... Another example could be a situation, where one adult murders another adult, if the murderer claims temporary insanity, some people could say this person is evil others would say this person is chemically unbalanced or it could reacted to as some kind of ploy to get out of harsh sentencing but what do you truly know about this person or his/her situation. Any individual can interpret these two examples or any other situations they engage in based on their own personal perceptions of reality. Does that not seem evil to you, the ability to condemn with little to zero knowledge, is it not evil or dark to assume you are intelligent, because you read a few books about a topic of have a degree in a particular field of study. The way person selects a friend or lover is usually selfish, usually in terms of making oneself feel sustained or busy or active or some other method of self-fulfillment is that not dark or evil or even the terms of preferences things that forsake others and allow others entry is that not a dorm of darkness. A given life style, who we select as friends or as lovers, the way we engage our family members or the way our family members engage us can change the way we interpret every fundamental thing we experience as humans. People like to re-define and reorganize and re-attribute what they consider to be social guidelines or even social faux pas pas in order to regulate and amputate the experience and in means of limiting the awkwardness or rudeness of a situation. If we are to engage defining any word and if we dare to say we know what any word means, we more than likely need to say we can only generalize the word or words being discussed and that it is up for interpretation just like anything else.
At the same time a person can not just claim darkness, a person cannot just simply be dark due to experience, that is not darkness not in my eyes.. To consider a person or anything dark, we would first need to acknowledge and discover all aspects of the thing we are interpreting in order to get to the source of what is being interpreted as darkness, however we all do this and what we find is not usually dark or evil, its fright, its despair, loneliness, anger, frustration and/ or alienation or there can be no source at all and that is when a true sense of darkness comes to pass. People portray darkness sometimes simply as a means of gaining attention or a way of being interacted with and that is not darkness. The other side of it could be that being dark as a person is not the same as containing a sense of darkness or creating illuminations that give light to darkness... but the same time there does exist a true darkness, which is something people do not want to be around. That true darkness can not be negotiated with or salvaged in any way. There are those who consider certain psychological disorders evil but that is not the truth, we give people we like or do not understand-way too much credit sometimes and every individual knows this, yet we all repeat our method of reasoning and interpreting every time we meet someone new or engage in a new situation... We all commit acts of darkness by being human in other words, we are all dark in that case..The scope of ones existence is a lie .... sometimes people become that much more complex, because you pull it out of them or because they know it is what they need to do in order to survive or obtain something... and again this is why darkness is confusing, because people generalize words and develop particular traits within themselves, due to the fact that we let them get away with it and that humans are generally attracted to these simple portrayals of the human condition, such as darkness, however, I believe that despite experiencing true darkness within certain individuals or situations, there are aspects of this word that no human could convey..
